Belinda Lewis

Belinda started her career in banking before joining the Civil Service in 2003. She worked on regional policy, the UK’s Presidency of the EU and the BBC Charter Review in Department for Culture, Media and Sport before moving to the Department for Constitutional Affairs (DCA) in 2005. In DCA, Belinda led on the disclosure of government information and then headed up the EU and international data sharing team, focusing on cross-border law enforcement cooperation. She moved the US in 2007 to act as an Adviser to the US Department of Homeland Security on bilateral and other data sharing arrangements. Belinda joined the Immigration Service in the Home Office on return to the UK, as Deputy Director responsible for border security and visa policy. She then joined the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) in 2009 to lead the Information Policy Division, covering EU, international and domestic information tribunal cases and EU and domestic legislation. In 2011, Belinda moved to MoJ’s International Directorate, leading on Foreign National Offender reductions, international anti-corruption, promoting UK legal services overseas, technical assistance projects and managing the constitutional relationship with the Crown Dependencies. Belinda was appointed as Director of Operations and Rule of Law in the Helmand Provincial Reconstruction Team in 2012 and became the Helmand PRT Head of Mission in 2013 until its closure in spring 2014. Belinda moved to Baghdad in August 2014 as the UK’s Deputy Ambassador to Iraq with responsibility for the smooth running of the Embassy, and for its programme and project work. Belinda relocated to Karachi in June 2016 as DHC Karachi and UKTI Director for Pakistan.

Belinda grew up in Newcastle upon Tyne and read History at Girton College, Cambridge. She enjoys cooking, keeping fit and collects taxidermy.

Chairman, Pakistan Petroleum Ltd.

Waqar A. Malik is a fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is also an Alumnus of the Harvard Business School and INSEAD. A specialist in Strategy, Corporate/Business Leadership and Board Governance, his professional experience includes managing and leading corporates in the petrochemicals, consumer and the life sciences industry. Mr. Malik has a career spanning over 27 years with Fortune 500 companies. His career with the ICI PLC group based in the UK and then Akzo Nobel in the Netherlands provided the opportunity to work in Europe and the Americas. In Pakistan, he was the Country Head of ICI PLC’s operations. He served as CEO of ICI Pakistan Limited and also the CEO and Chairman of Lotte Pakistan limited (formerly Pakistan PTA Limited).

He currently serves as the Board Member & Chairman of Pakistan Petroleum Limited; Board Member, TPL Direct Insurance Limited; Advisory Board, Institute of Business Administration; Board Member, British Business Centre; and Trustee, i-Care Foundation. Previously, Mr. Malik served as Board member, State bank of Pakistan; President, Overseas Investor’s Chamber for Commerce and Industry (OICCI); President, Management Association of Pakistan; Board Member, Lahore University of Management Sciences; Board Member, Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture; Chairman, Sui Southern Gas Company; Board Member, Engro Polymer Limited; and Board member, IGI insurance limited. He was awarded Prince of Wales medal as a Trustee of the Prince of Wales Pakistan Recovery Fund for the flood victims in 2010. Mr. Malik joined the Engro Board in 2015.

Shazad G. Dada

Mr. Shazad G. Dada is a seasoned banker and a prominent capital market professional. His portfolio includes over 20 years of major national and international financial market experience. Being the CEO of Pakistan operations of Barclays Bank plc, he is presently overseeing all Barclays’ businesses in Pakistan. Mr. Dada is a graduate with honours from University of Pennsylvania with Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees and also has an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He has been contributing towards the development of the Pakistani financial market and continues to do so as the Vice-Chairman of the Pakistan Banks’ Association and Council Member and Chairperson – Finance Committee of The Institute of Bankers Pakistan. Mr. Shazad Dada actively contributes towards the community and plays his part as Chairperson of Developments in Literacy, as Director of NayaJeevan and AIESEC. Besides, he is also associated with various reputed charitable organizations and causes.
